General Information

The Albena resort is one of the biggest, most modern and most beautiful sea balneological resorts in Bulgaria. It is found in 1969.

It is situated 12km south of Balchik, 14km north of the Golden Sands resort and only 30km from the city of Varna, which has an international harbor and airport. Located at the foot of hills planted with trees and shrubs, Albena is situated on the beach of an obscure bay. The resort is protected from winds and has a huge coastline, 6km long and 150m wide.

Close to Albena and officially part of its town is the national nature preserve ´Baltata´. Together they are a unique combination of preserved nature and a modern sea tourist complex offering together offering relaxation and ecotourism. The resort´s priority is keeping the environment clean.

The botanical garden in Balchik is located 10km from Albena. The botanical garden hosts the architectural park complex “The Castle”. It was a residence of the Romanian queen Maria in the beginning of 20 century.

The resort offers excellent conditions for medical treatment, sports, congresses and education. It has a medical center, balneological center, spa center, congress center, music-hall theatre, and sports facilities.
